THE FLIGHT DESIGN
The Leader in Light Sport Aviation!
The Flight Design CTSW is the
performance leader in Light Sport Aircraft due to its remarkable design and
high-tech construction. CT stands for Composite-Technology and the name is
correct. The carbon fiber and aramid composite airframe allows for a very
strong, light and aerodynamically clean design. Flight design engineers
chose high strength-to weight and stiff carbon fiber re-enforced plastic (CFRP)
material to build the CT airframes. Each layer and each direction of the
fiber is chosen to ensure the highest strength and stiffness. The unique
fuselage design of the CTSW minimizes drag and maximizes
interior room for you, your passenger and luggage. The attention to detail
and the cleanliness of the CTSW allow for high cruising speed
and super long range.
In production since 1997 with over 900 flying worldwide, the CTSW
is a very popular for flight training and long distance travel. The
CTSW is certified in the USA as Special Light Sport Aircraft (SLSA)
to allow for Flight training and rental use. For 2006 the CTSW
features evolutionary aerodynamic improvements and several popular options
included as stand equipment.
Comfort - The large cabin of the CTSW has a width of
49Ē. The 2-way adjustable seats and extra-wide Cabin doors makes for a
comfortable experience for you and your passenger. The ergonomic arrangement
of the controls and instruments, plus the CTís terrific visibility makes
long flights more relaxing and fun.
Performance - The CTSW has a cruising speed of over 129
mph at 75% power and a economical range of over 1000 miles! The strut-less
carbon fiber wing has high-lift slotted flaps for amazing short field
capabilities. Due to the strength to weight ration of carbon fiber, the
CTSW has a useful load of over 638 pounds. Thatís equal to its
Safety - The CTSW has been certified to 3 international
airworthiness standards and was developed by Flight Designís professional
engineering staff with safety utmost in their minds. The structure of the CT
is over 90% carbon fiber and aramid, which provides superior pilot and
passenger protection. Four-point harness and wing located fuel tanks and now
standard BRS 1350 parachute system are just a few of the well thought out
safety features of this state-of-the-art aircraft.
